Repairs and Adaptations to your home
This service is for homeowners (owner-occupiers) to help you Repair, Improve or Adapt your home to allow you to remain safe, secure and independent in your own home and in your own community.
Now, this service is provided by the Local Authority through Community Repairs & Advice Service Advisors. More information on this service can be found here.
For Owner Occupiers you can contact the Repairs and Adaptations service in writing to Community Repairs Advice Service, South Lanarkshire Council, Brandon Gate, Floor 3A, Hamilton, ML3 0XB or emailing communityrepairadvice@southlanarkshire.gov.uk or directly contacting them on 0303 123 1025.
The service providers will –
- Listen to any concerns you have about looking after your home and discuss these with you
- Help you decide what repairs or improvements are needed
- Arrange the preparation of any drawings if required
- Help you to access any approved or accredited contractors list and, if necessary, provide specifications
- Obtain quotes for the work from qualified and reliable contractors and help set up a contract between you and your contractor
- Visit to ensure the work is carried out to an acceptable standard
- Advise you of funding options you may be entitled to and help you to complete forms and other paperwork
