SMALL REPAIRS PROJECT TO BE LAUNCHED BY JANUARY 2023

We have been fortunate to receive funds from one of our partners that will enable us to be able to offer a subsidised Small Repairs Service to clients across Lanarkshire. These funds will allow us to provide one Care & Repair Small Repairs Officer on a full-time basis for 1 year to carry out small repairs for clients.

Carrying out small repairs timeously and affordably will enable clients to live more safely and comfortably within their own homes.

This Small Repairs Service will be eligible to residents of all tenures across Lanarkshire so long as they meet certain eligibility criteria:

(1) Resident in Lanarkshire
(2) One resident member of the household must be:
✓ Over the age of 60
✓ Living with a physical or mental disability
✓ Living with a life-limiting illness

And also
✓ In receipt of a passporting benefit
✓ In financial hardship

Clients will pay for any materials or equipment required and a flat fee of £12.00 for a home visit to carry out repairs lasting up to one hour.

CARE & REPAIR LANARKSHIRE – HELPING EVEN MORE CLIENTS

We have always tried to meet clients’ needs in South Lanarkshire and, since July 2022, across North Lanarkshire as well. We listen to residents and try to provide services that they say they need. This led to the development of the paid-for Small Repairs Service and more recently, now many residents are facing financial hardship, the subsidised Small Repairs Service. Over the last few years, we have been helping more and more clients as we introduce different projects and become a Pan-Lanarkshire charity.

SHOWCASING THE CARE & REPAIR LANARKSHIRE SERVICE

We have been delighted that our MPs and MSPs have taken an interest in the work we are carrying out and privileged to meet with them and explain to them some of the challenges we face daily to deliver our projects across Lanarkshire. We would like to pass on our thanks and appreciation of support to:
• Angela Crawley MP
• Clare Adamson MSP
• Colin Smyth MSP
• Dr Lisa Cameron MP

AEDS (DEFIBRILLATORS)

We have 4 AEDs which we carry on our vans. Team members have been trained to use the devices should they come across a situation that required this type of intervention. We also advertise to the public on the van that an AED is available should they require to use it. Due to the increase in our service delivery, we now operate 6 vans and will be looking at funding opportunities to purchase a further 2 AEDs for these vans
